I did not set out to build a group of companies. I set out to solve a problem I could see clearly: that people deserved better — better homes, better food, better service — and that most businesses around them were not thinking hard enough about that.

That is what brought me to Singapore in 2013, and what kept me here. What eventually became the Adobha Group started as a single flat, a Sanskrit verse I believed in, and one simple conviction: if you treat every person who walks through your door as a guest, the business will follow.

How it started

Born in Vellore. Raised in Chennai. I grew up knowing what it means to start from a small place and have a large ambition — and to not let the distance between those two things embarrass you.

My first business was in 2003 — chennailisting.com, a local directory for Chennai. I borrowed ₹1 lakh from my father to start it. He lent it at interest, because he wanted me to understand that capital has a cost. The market did not respond. I folded it. I tried again with a consulting practice. That folded too.

I came to Singapore the first time for a job. I watched how this city worked — the systems, the discipline, the way things got done. Then I went back to India, because something was still unfinished there.

2013 was the year everything broke open. The crafts business I had been building in Chennai failed. Our first child was born that same year. I borrowed money for the hospital. I sold my wedding ring.

And then I started Adobha. One flat in Singapore. No team. No external funding. A co-founder who believed in me when the evidence was thin. And a belief that treating people with genuine dignity — tenant, farmer, client — would work as a business.

It did. And the journey from Vellore to here is still going.

I sold my wedding ring in 2013. That same year, I started Adobha. One flat. One belief. The two facts are not separate stories.

Growth

What grew from it

Over twelve years, the tree has put down many roots.

Adobha Energy grew from a recognition that Singapore's built environment needed more than maintenance — it needed a cleaner future. Today we are BCA-registered to deliver building works, solar installation, and EV charging under a single licence. Sustainable construction, done properly.

Adobha Agro, rooted in Tamil Nadu's farmland, has grown into something bigger than produce. The focus now is on taking the richness of the coconut — one of India's most complete foods — and bringing it to the world.

And now Genzi. AI automation for enterprises globally. Built on the same belief that has always driven the group: that people should be freed from the repetitive and the administrative, so they can focus on what actually requires human judgement.

Each one came from the same place: a problem I saw clearly, and a conviction that doing it honestly would be enough.

"

Every business I have built started with a person I felt responsible for — not a market I wanted to capture.

Philosophy

"I am not trying to move fast and break things. I am trying to build things that last — businesses where the person on the other side of the transaction is genuinely better off."

That is not strategy. This is my belief, and this is how I have run every business since 2004.

How I operate

Three things that are always true.

01
I Think.

Before I commit to anything. Most of my best decisions look slow from the outside. I am comfortable with that.

02
I Build.

I am an operator, not a theorist. The Adobha Group exists because I built it — not because I pitched it to someone who did.

03
I Nurture.

I am in this for the long run. I do not extract and exit. The landlords who trust me with their properties, the farmers whose trees we contract, the enterprises whose workflows we automate — I feel responsible for all of them. That is not strategy. That is my belief, and it is how I have run every business since 2004.
